Keeping WinnerMeta Sustainable: A Match Data Update

Keeping WinnerMeta Sustainable: A Match Data Update

Montedor

WinnerMeta's match database was growing toward a size we could no longer sustainably support. To keep the service running, we needed to change how we ingest and store match data, rather than keep expanding storage at the same rate.

Those changes are now live, and new matches are already being processed using the updated system. During this transition, some statistics will be temporarily incomplete, unavailable, or inconsistent while fresh data builds up and we validate the results.

What you will notice

  • Attachment statistics are temporarily disabled. We are collecting new data over the coming days and will bring these statistics back once we are confident in their reliability. Missing attachment data is not evidence that an attachment has no effect.
  • Weapon fire rate (RPM) may be unavailable or inconsistent. These estimates need fresh match samples and validation. Treat missing values as unavailable data, not a fire rate of zero, and avoid drawing conclusions from temporary changes.
  • Player statistics will temporarily cover only the most recent five days. With a shorter sample, averages and rankings can move more sharply. A change in your displayed statistics does not necessarily mean your performance has changed.

Other statistics may also fluctuate as the updated ingestion system settles in. Comparisons made during this period should be treated with caution, especially where information is missing or the available sample is small.

Why we made this change

Detailed match data adds up quickly. Our previous storage approach was approaching a level we could not afford to maintain. We have adjusted the data pipeline to store match information more efficiently and keep WinnerMeta sustainable.

This is an infrastructure change, not a PUBG balance update. It should not be interpreted as evidence that a weapon, attachment, or player suddenly became better or worse.

What happens next

We will continue ingesting fresh matches over the coming days and checking the resulting statistics before restoring affected data. We are not promising a specific recovery date: confidence in the numbers matters more than filling every field quickly.

We will update this post as affected statistics return. Until then, the site-wide notice will link here so you can understand why a number might be missing or look different.

Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the disruption. These adjustments are necessary to keep WinnerMeta available and useful over the long term.
