PUBG Weapon Meta Monthly Update: Top 5 DMRs and SRs (April 2026)
This monthly update covers the top DMRs and SRs by real match volume for April 2026. Same method as before: ranked by shot share, data pulled from WinnerMeta's 14-day rolling telemetry window across all maps, modes, and perspectives.
The headline this month is the Dragunov. Its Update 41.1 recoil buff — roughly 20% vertical and 15% horizontal reduction — has already moved the needle in the data in a big way. More on that below.
One other note: the QBU has been excluded from the DMR rankings this month. It's confirmed for removal in Update 42.1 and its usage has dropped to near zero.
Top 5 DMRs (April 2026, by shot share)
| # | Weapon | Shot Share | User Share | Hit Rate | Kill/Shot | HS Rate | Avg Dmg/Hit | Avg Kill Dist |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mk12 | 4.16% | 5.51% | 12.74% | 0.91% | 18.94% | 25.9 | 133.7 m |
| 2 | Mini14 | 3.25% | 4.48% | 13.51% | 0.96% | 18.65% | 25.8 | 126.4 m |
| 3 | VSS | 1.89% | 1.77% | 10.27% | 0.99% | 16.78% | 27.2 | 71.5 m |
| 4 | Dragunov | 1.62% | 3.32% | 15.66% | 1.44% | 20.32% | 33.7 | 125.2 m |
| 5 | SKS | 1.21% | 2.17% | 15.06% | 1.33% | 18.89% | 30.0 | 103.1 m |
Outside the top 5: SLR at 1.03% shot share, and the Mk14 EBR at 0.52% — though the Mk14 is crate-only, so its usage naturally skews late-game (it peaks at Circle 5).
DMR notes
Mk12 — Still the most-picked DMR by a significant margin. Erangel is its home (34.4% of shots), and it fires most heavily around Circle 1.5 — the classic mid-game compound-to-compound phase. High volume, consistent performer.
Mini14 — Tracks closely behind the Mk12 in both shot share and per-shot efficiency. Slightly lower kill distance (126m vs 134m) but similar hit rate and headshot rate. The practical alternative when you can't find a Mk12.
VSS — The interesting one. Its Circle 1.00 peak (23.7% of its total shots) is the highest early-game spike of any DMR — players are picking it up right out of the drop and firing heavily before transitioning to other options. Avg kill distance of 71.5m confirms it's doing a different job than the rest of the class. If you want to understand why its numbers look low against the others, the bullet drop comparison tool makes the VSS trajectory versus a Mk12 immediately obvious.
Dragunov — This is the month's story. Shot share jumped from 1.18% in March to 1.62% now — a 37% increase in usage. User share moved from 2.68% to 3.32%. The 41.1 recoil buff clearly drove real adoption. Kill/shot (1.44%) and headshot rate (20.32%) both lead the top 5. More players are picking it up, and it's converting at the highest rate in the class.
SKS — Reliable mid-range DMR that holds its position month over month. Its Circle 1.00 peak (20.7%) is similar to the VSS — both get picked up early and fired through the mid-game. Kill distance of 103m puts it comfortably between the close-range VSS and the true long-range DMRs.
Top 5 SRs (April 2026, by shot share)
| # | Weapon | Shot Share | User Share | Hit Rate | Kill/Shot | HS Rate | Avg Dmg/Hit | Avg Kill Dist |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | M24 | 1.82% | 10.46% | 23.58% | 4.19% | 31.91% | 55.7 | 148.5 m |
| 2 | Kar98k | 1.52% | 9.10% | 23.40% | 4.36% | 34.47% | 58.7 | 143.7 m |
| 3 | AWM | 0.12% | 0.95% | 33.11% | 7.03% | 33.04% | 66.5 | 161.1 m |
| 4 | Lynx | 0.09% | 0.59% | 31.13% | 7.00% | 28.72% | 67.1 | 156.7 m |
| 5 | Win94 | 0.009% | 0.047% | 24.07% | 4.32% | 26.39% | 50.5 | 122.1 m |
On the Mosin Nagant: still technically in the loot pool but at 0.00038% shot share it's already invisible. It's leaving with Update 42.1.
SR notes
M24 — The most-picked SR in the game. 10.46% of all players had an M24 at some point in the data window. Its Circle 1.5 peak reflects players looting early and holding it through mid-game. Strong across all maps.
Kar98k — Fewer players carry it than the M24, but those who do are more precise: 4.36% kill/shot vs 4.19%, 34.47% HS rate vs 31.91%. The Kar rewards players who know how to use a bolt-action. Notably dominant on Miramar, which shows up clearly when you break it down by map.
AWM and Lynx — Both are crate-only and both peak at Circle 5, which tells you exactly how they're used: dropped in, picked up mid-to-late game, and fired in final circles. AWM edges the Lynx in kill/shot (7.03% vs 7.00%) but the Lynx matches it on damage per hit (67.1 vs 66.5). At this level, the difference comes down to availability and personal feel.
Win94 — Erangel's lever-action SR holds the #5 slot this month after the Mosin's effective disappearance. Low volume, but 24% hit rate and 4.32% kill/shot are legitimate bolt-action numbers. It's limited to Erangel and fills the same early-loot role there that a Kar98k does everywhere else.
What changed since March
- Dragunov is up 37% in shot share. The buff landed, and the data confirms it. If you haven't revisited it since 41.1, now is the time — it's the highest kill/shot and headshot rate in the DMR class this month.
- Mk12 and Mini14 are essentially unchanged — consistent baselines the rest of the class moves around.
- VSS held position; its early-game utility keeps it relevant despite low per-shot conversion.
- SR tier is stable. M24 and Kar98k hold the same positions with very similar numbers.
